Meet the Founder

In 2021, while still in high school, Luisa stepped onto a construction site for the very first time. The work was hard, tedious, and physically demanding but within the grit, she discovered something unexpected: a love for building.
What many saw as labor, she saw as possibility.

That moment didn’t just shape her career goals... it sparked a mission. As Luisa looked around, she noticed how rare it was to see other women in the field. Often, she was the only one. And while that could have been discouraging, it became her motivation. She didn’t just want to belong in construction. She wanted to change it.

Luisa went on to create Women Can Engineer, a platform dedicated to empowering women in STEM and challenging the idea that certain spaces aren’t meant for them. Through real conversations, mentorship stories, and inclusive representation, Women Can Engineer helps women and girls feel seen, supported, and capable... whether in the classroom, the lab, or on a job-site.

Now a Construction Management student, Luisa has combined her academic journey with her advocacy. She launched G.L.O.W. (Girls Leading Our World) to bring hands-on STEM programming directly into elementary schools, making science fun, accessible, and confidence building for young girls at the age when self-belief begins to form.

Luisa’s mission is simple: to help every girl believe she belongs in the room and at the head of the table.

Miss Alachua 2025

In 2025, Luisa was titled Miss Alachua, a title that allows her to amplify the impact within her community. With her title as a platform, she continues to advocate for women in STEM while also serving local organizations, volunteering, and uplifting the next generation of leaders. Her story is a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose... a reminder that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the most meaningful callings.
